About
A bit about me.
I'm Dr Ahmed Al-Obaidi, a dedicated General Practitioner based in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria, with a strong passion for preventative medicine and personalised patient care.
With over seven years of experience in general practice, I believe in empowering people to take control of their health through education and early intervention.
I earned my Bachelor of Medicine and General Surgery from the University of Baghdad in 2011. After moving to Australia as a skilled migrant in 2017, I passed the Australian Medical Council (AMC) exams and completed my residency training on the Central Coast, NSW, between 2018 and 2019.
Early in my career I developed a deep appreciation for primary healthcare, seeing it as the key to preventing hospital admissions in the first place. I firmly believe in the age-old adage: "prevention is better than cure". That is when I embarked on General Practice training, which culminated in achieving my Fellowship (FRACGP) in 2025.
My goal is to help my patients live healthier, longer lives by providing evidence-based care and practical lifestyle guidance tailored to their individual needs. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy exploring medical technology, cycling, and spending quality time with my family.
